What is AudiobookCraft?
AudiobookCraft is a free online document to audiobook converter. It turns readable text from PDF, Markdown and plain-text files into MP3 or M4B audio so you can listen to books, articles, study notes and reports away from the screen. Upload a document, wait for its check, compare voices and preview a passage before creating the full audio.
What does it support?
This version supports text-based, single-column PDFs, reflowable EPUBs, Markdown and plain-text files, with MP3 or M4B output and English and Chinese narration. PDFs and EPUBs must be within 20 MiB; PDFs within 100 pages; Markdown and TXT files within 5 MiB; every document within 200,000 characters. You can also paste text directly. Google sign-in is required for private audio previews and full conversions. The finished audio link is emailed to your Google account.
Scanned pages are read with OCR and two-column pages are reordered into reading order. Image/chart descriptions and complex layouts are not supported. Detection is best effort; listen to the preview and check the source when accuracy matters. Read the Terms of Use for the full usage boundaries.
How is the audio made?
The document checker extracts readable text from your PDF. Speech is generated by a third-party speech synthesis service; the text is sent only for that purpose. Files and generated audio are kept in private storage. Download access expires 24 hours after first readiness; expiry does not delete stored files. See our Privacy Policy for the providers, data handling and retention limits.
