What we process

AudiobookCraft converts readable document text into MP3 or M4B audio. You can browse the site and check a document without signing in. We use a browser identifier cookie to associate anonymous uploads with your browser. Google sign-in is required for private audio previews and full conversions; it supplies your basic account identity, including your email. We do not request Gmail or Google Drive access.

We store your uploaded document, extracted text, document and task metadata, selected voice and generated audio to check the document, run conversions and let you retrieve results. Account and session records support sign-in and access controls. Avoid uploading sensitive material that you do not want processed by these services.

Services used to deliver your audio

Uploaded documents (PDF, EPUB, Markdown, TXT or pasted text) and audio are stored in a private object storage service. Narration text is sent to a third-party speech synthesis service to create speech. Google provides sign-in. Our email delivery service receives your Google account email and the delivery message so we can send a link to your audiobook. These providers process data under their own applicable terms and privacy policies. Server and worker errors are sent to Sentry with the error message, stack trace, request route and environment; we do not send document text, filenames, email addresses, cookies or task identifiers.

Your documents are not published in a public library. Audio access is checked against your signed-in account; delivery links do not make the stored objects public. You are responsible for keeping your account and any downloaded copies secure.

Retention and download access

Download access expires 24 hours after the audio first becomes ready. Resending a message or signing in again does not extend that window. Link expiry does not delete uploaded files, extracted text or audio. Automatic deletion and a self-service file deletion feature are not provided in this version. We do not promise permanent storage or recovery. Account, task and operational records may remain after download access expires.

Cookies and usage information

Session cookies keep you signed in. A browser identifier links uploads to the current browser; local browser storage remembers your current document and selections. Clearing these may prevent you from resuming anonymous work. We record document/task status, errors and usage events — including page views, call-to-action clicks, upload starts and conversion starts — to operate the service, diagnose failures and understand demand for unsupported features.

Product analytics events do not contain document text, filenames or email addresses. Events may be associated with a task or browser identifier; they are not represented as anonymous statistics. Raw usage and capability-interest events are retained for 30 days. Operational and account records have separate retention; no automatic deletion deadline is promised for those records.

When enabled, optional Google Analytics measures visits only after you allow it. It receives public page paths (without query strings or fragments), the referring site's origin, a fixed site title, and technical/browser information collected by the Google tag. Analytics cookies distinguish visits. We do not send PDF text, filenames, email addresses, account IDs, document IDs or task IDs as event parameters. Advertising features and automatic enhanced measurement are disabled. Google processes analytics data under its own policies; these visits are not described as anonymous.

Use Analytics settings to change your choice. Declining leaves the Google tag unloaded; withdrawing permission disables future measurement in this browser but does not erase previously collected data or automatically remove existing Google cookies. You can remove cookies using browser settings.

Your choices

You can sign out, clear browser storage and stop using the service. These actions do not delete server-side documents or account records. Upload only content you have permission to process, and review these data-sharing and retention limits before submitting a document.
